Another addition to the stable

...and now one must go.

Talked to Jim at HCHQ and ended up with a used LHT; damn that man and his vodoo.

I'm now at the point where where the One In One Out applies.  In this case the Bleriot has to go, so it's on the block and up for sale for any serious bid.

I am selling the Bleriot, but not happily.  This has been the bike that restored my love for two-wheeled transportation, a joy for riding and the realization that biking has to be anything but painful, slow and ugly.  The Bleriot is a beautiful bike and I get complements from it when I ride and I never really thought that anybody cared or noticed anybody else's bike.

Being a tech-and-bike guy you can relate to both sides of this.

Ask the question "how many bikes do you need?" or "how much RAM memory do you need" and the answer is the same: More.

My reply to this is "how many golf clubs do you need?" At least a few, because they all are meant to do something different.

What size is the Bleriot?

Rig:

56cm (I think), but with the 650b it is a smaller bike than the size may seem. You are welcome to come and take it for an extended test drive.

Congrats on the addition, and i'm sorry about your soon to be loss!! ;)
just think to ease your pain, you can take the new steed out for a pedal, and after the 1st mile or two you'll forget about your loss??!!
damn what a wonderful thing a simple bike is does!!!

Peace,
Joboo

I just got a LHT this fall and am really liking it. I am a bit confused though; you can get rid of one bike when a new one comes in? That's a new concept around here but it might make for more room in the garage...

I am going to add my 2 cents...Keep It

Me dear Missus isn't pressing me to rid myself of it, but I am thinking that it will become redundant. It proved a poor touring bike and as a commuter, it was overtaken by the DumVee as I love riding that thing.

It sure is pretty though...

As a person who (has too many bikes) has both an LHT and a Bleriot, I disagree strongly that they're redundant. My Bleriot is my country-ridin' bike. It's for long all-day rides with great comfort and ease. I have mine bedecked with Riv bags for my necessities. I would only get rid of it for a AHH trade.

As for the LHT (26"), it's the exploration/commuter/touring rig. It'll do a bit of everything, but if you have it racked up with stout tires, then the ride quality is gonna be pretty different from a Bleriot. It's certainly the case that the LHT ride is a stiffer, heavier one.

Man's gotta do what he must, but consider your move.
