A Sugar-frosted Ride

The utterly frigid temperatures that we've been experiencing for the past couple of weeks have begun to abate and our annual "January thaw" has shown up on schedule.  This morning, there was fog/mist and this froze on contact, giving the world a ghostly, yet sublime look.  It's mornings like this that make riding worthwhile.

I wonder how many car commuters noticed the beauty that greeted us Minneapolitans?

Come on don't sterotype all car commuters as those who don't pay attention - I throughly enjoyed the glistening of the ice this morning and thought it was beautiful. Wonder if anyone riding a bus noticed.

I agree. There is a stretch of road I used to run (hurt my hip, getting back to running) and every time I drive through it I so have the urge to run it. It's a whole other world.

I'm sure other folks noticed it as well but I found it to be exquisite riding through it. The ice fog was thickest when I was crossing the Mendota Bridge and it made the whole MN River valley shimmer.

I, in my car, didn't notice any beauty. Instead, I noticed a constant spray from other vehicles' tires. This required me to use lots of blue stuff to keep the windshield clean. I must remember to fill the tank with more blue stuff tonight.
