...but it's windy. Bleah.
If you're still out in this, Costco has Merino wool sweaters for sale at $19.99. I've picked up a couple and they'll be my base layer (underwear for you normal folks) for the next 5-6 months. They also have wool socks that are just like Smartwool's for $10 for 4 pair.
Steel is real, but wool is realer...

Wife got me a merino wool long sleeve shirt for the birthday, and fall came down like a hammer last week, so I got to wear it. In fact, I wore it for 4 straight days for the ride to and from work, and through the day for the first couple. It didn't smell like anything until the last day, and then only a little bit.
Yesterday I wore a capilene long sleeve into work. One trip, not even both ways, and it's already punnnnnngent.
Wool's crazamazin'.
Over the last few years I have picked up enough merino wool to wear it pretty much every day. I picked up four of those CostCo sweaters last year at the same price and wear them a ton. It's not only comfortable, it pays for itself by the amount I save from not having to do laundry very often.
I think this is the year to see how many times I DON'T wash my merino.
We picked up 4 of the sweaters for the family and 2 packs of the sockr. They worked great today as a second layer under the rain shell. Thanks for the tip.
